We visited Tokyo Disneyland in October, and it was ALL DRESSED up for Halloween! Pumpkins everywhere, and all our favorite characters were suited up as well. It was an extremely busy day there, and about 100 degrees outside. We had to stay cool with Mickey shaped popsickles and get refuge in the 3D Michael Jackson Experience. Many of the attractions are similar to what we have in the states, all of your favorite rides and characters. The one thing we noticed that was different is all of the people visiting dress in their best Disney gear. People of all ages were sporting the ears, tails, and Mickey Mouse favorites.... especially girls in their teens and twenties. When we were on the train ride going we saw many people also making their way to the park ... and we could just tell by what they were wearing! Our friend who works at Disney here said they charge less for the admission ticket because it is offset by the millions of dollars spent at all of the merchandise shops within the park!!! It looked like people were doing their Christmas shopping from all the bags and focus on the shopping experience.
We also caught a great parade in the middle of the day. We started wondering what was going on when the guests were putting down blankets in the middle of the walkways and camping out.... Sure enough, they were well prepared for the upcoming parade, and they all new a special song- with MOTIONS, that they were all singing with the help of Disney employees. We felt so bummed that we didn't know the songs-
and if this was a Japense tradition during parades ??? Well, what we found out was that guests can actually go to a workshop to learn it!!!
There is one other Disney Themed Park in Japan, called Disney of The Sea.... will keep you posted if we make our way there too.......
